Description:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Manager to lead the plant maintenance function for our 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation in Richmond, Indiana. This individual will provide leadership, guidance, and direction while ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. The Maintenance Manager will collaborate with the plant engineer to enhance employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall operational effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the maintenance and capital projects for the site, ensuring the effective utilization of equipment and resources.
  • Collaborate with the plant engineer to implement continuous improvement techniques to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to optimize asset utilization through preventive maintenance.
  • Identify corrective actions based on key maintenance performance indicators to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with emerging industry regulations and codes related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in both capital project implementation and day-to-day maintenance operations.
  • Share best practices within the Maintenance Department to drive process improvement.
  • Engage in planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating typical managerial responsibilities.
  • Manage employees directly or through supervisors, ensuring effective recruitment, retention, development, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Participate in union-related activities if applicable, including negotiations, grievances, or contract discussions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or some college in an engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a plant maintenance function.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience with union facilities, safety, and workers' compensation preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in safety/security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation and quality policies, report deficiencies, and take corrective action.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) processes within a Management Operating Structure (MOS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs and lead others through change.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.
  • Must pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal checks).
