Maintenance Manager
Job Description
Location: Peachtree City, GA
Salary:$115k-$130k/yr .based on experience.
- Manage the implementation and execution of tools and methodology related to autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
- Provide direction to the maintenance department and lead a team of 12 maintenance technicians, with a focus on preventative and corrective maintenance of process, facility, and auxiliary equipment.
- Assign resources required to solve unsafe conditions and safely maintain equipment.
- Execute high-quality standards and continuous improvement efforts focused on minimizing costs and maximizing productivity.
- Establish and maintain a strong manufacturing customer focus throughout the department and in support of plant-wide operations.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with operations customers and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain an atmosphere of trust and business awareness within the maintenance and operations departments.
- Establish a skilled and competent workforce focusing on team building and group problem-solving.
- Provide repairs and preventative support to operations departments in a timely and efficient manner, with consideration of life-cycle costs and minimizing bottlenecks.
- Establish operating indicators (metrics) to measure departmental performance and communicate results to upper management, critical customers, and employees.
- Pursue stretch goals to improve key performance indicators and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Participate in capital planning, implementation, and new process development.
- Provide strong leadership in personnel safety by setting high standards to ensure maintenance efforts do not put employees at risk.
- Promote workplace safety through weekly shift safety meetings, area safety audits, and safety Gemba walks.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Manager in a manufacturing environment required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical field preferred.
- Proven experience leading a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Solid understanding of demand management techniques.
- Experience with good manufacturing practices and team development.
- Supervision, lean, and ISO experience a plus, with plastics industry experience preferred.
- Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical, or electrical areas preferred.
