Salary: 120k/yr.
Sterling Engineering is looking for an Maintenance Manager for a growing manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions with a client of ours Near Melrose Park, IL. Job Duties:
- Supervise and provide daily guidance to Maintenance shift personnel.
- Communicate business and maintenance issues to department personnel.
- Interpret and enforce company policies and professional standards.
- Collaborate with team to identify and solve maintenance issues (short- and long-term).
- Interact with other departments and support groups.
- Suggest improvements in working conditions and equipment usage to increase efficiency.
- Manage and complete technical projects as needed (from Maintenance Project List).
- Develop team members’ skills to enhance efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems; assist workers in problem-solving.
- Implement plans to motivate team to meet goals.
- Support improvements in Troubleshooting, Preventive Maintenance, and Training.
- Supervise in accordance with policies and laws (hiring, training, performance appraisals, discipline, resolving issues).
- Preferred: College degree in Business Admin, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; lean certification; 2 years of relevant experience.
- Supervisory, lean, and ISO experience a plus; plastics industry preferred.
- Additional education in quality, safety, or mechanical/electrical areas preferred.
- Preferred certifications: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ASQ Quality Engineering, Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience with plastic extrusion/injection molding is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, people-oriented environment.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.
