Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for all buildings and grounds projects across the Chicago campus. This individual will be the overall coordinator for the building automation system while working with other HVAC and electrical maintenance personnel. Experience in controls troubleshooting as well as reading and understanding electrical control diagrams is a must.

Job Duties:
  • Oversight of the building automation system. 
  • Coordinating maintenance/programming with controls technicians.
  • Documenting and tracking changes to the building automation system.
  • Monitoring setpoints and trends to ensure efficient and reliable HVAC and process system throughout all facilities.
  • Tracking scheduled PMs, diagnosing and resolving reliability issues, and coordinating outside contractor services.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on electrical control schematics/drawings.
  • Learning and applying programming to the building automation system.

Qualifications:
  • H.S. diploma or GED; B.S. in an Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical competence in navigating and troubleshooting building automation software
  • Extensive experience with HVAC equipment (electro/pneumatic controls, steam systems, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAVs, air distribution, chillers, condensers, etc.…)
  • Experience related to building design & construction projects, plant rearrangement/remodel projects, electrical systems.
