Job Purpose:
Have a complete understanding of digital electronics, micro-computers, micro-processors, and industrial electrical circuitry and system. Efficiently analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems in process and plant equipment. Perform other maintenance duties as directed and in a safe efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
1. PC SKILLS/MS DOS: Know commands and be able to apply and use a PC when troubleshooting digital, microcomputer, and micro-process controls.
2. Micro-computers: Be able to understand how micro-computers operate and understand and run application programs. Analyze problems and make necessary repairs. An understanding of programming is also essential so software changes can be made if necessary.
3. Programmable Logic Controls: Analyze problems, repair and program controls.
4. AC/DC Motors: Trouble shoot and repair motors and drives.
5. Ladder Relay Logic: Read and understand schematics and be able to layout and wire.
6. Analog and digital circuitry: Analyze problems and repair both analog and digital circuitry and be able to interface the two.
7. Panel Layout: Design panels to include wiring and controls using established industry standards optimizing control and minimizing costs. Documentation of all panel layout and design is also necessary.
8. Electronic Controls: Able to analyze problems and repair, various electrical controllers, i.e. cycle timer, temperature controllers, pressure controllers.
9. Mechanical: Use hand tools for mechanical work and have basic knowledge of machine repair so assistance to other maintenance personnel can be provided.When necessary assist mechanics in repair of equipment, changeovers, rebuilding and/or replacement of parts. Being capable of light brazing, welding and soldering.
