Job Description

Title: 3rd shift Maintenance Electrician 
Location: Thornton, IL 

Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including motors, transformers, generators, and electronic controllers, to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Run and replace conduit as needed for new installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and instrumentation issues, utilizing appropriate testing equipment and tools.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address any electrical or instrumentation issues that may affect production processes or product quality.
  • Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to facilitate the troubleshooting and repair process.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including documentation of equipment performance, repairs, and modifications.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of electrical and instrumentation upgrades or modifications to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant technical training is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an industrial electrician and instrumentation technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and instrumentation testing equipment and tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
