Location: Northbrook, IL
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $27-$33 per hour (depending on experience)
Company Overview:
We are a dynamic manufacturing company located in Northbrook, IL, seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our production process, working with both manual and CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts from raw stock to finished products.
Responsibilities:
Utilize manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, drills, etc.
Operate CNC equipment, with specific experience in Dynapath and Southwest machinery for lathes and mills.
Use precision measurement tools such as veneers, micrometers, gage pins, etc.
Prepare and square up materials from raw stock.
Work with tight tolerances, ranging from standard precision of +/-.001" to tighter tolerances up to +/-.0001".
Understand feeds and speeds for various materials, including 304 and 440c stainless steels, plastics, aluminum, and other metals.
Familiarity with Edgecam/Pathtrace and Autocad is a plus.
Set up machines for manufacturing, using parallels and squaring up material in the vise.
Applicant should have their own tools, including hand tools and measuring devices.
Experience working in a tool room is highly desirable.
