Job Description

Title: Manual Machinist 
Location: Itasca, IL 
Hire Type: Contract to Hire 
Salary: $22-30/hr.
Must have: Experience with Bridgeport Mills 

We are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist with experience operating Bridgeport Mills to produce precision parts and components. This hands-on role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate Bridgeport manual mills to machine parts to exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Perform layout, inspection, and measurement of machined parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
  • Make manual adjustments to tooling and machine settings to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain machines and tools in proper working order.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience operating Bridgeport or similar manual mills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments accurately.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Experience with manual lathes, surface grinders, or other manual machines is a plus.
