Tool Machinist
Job Description
- Set up and operate a variety of toolroom machines including drill presses, milling machines (manual and CNC), engine lathes, and surface grinders, ensuring all operations are performed safely and accurately.
- Fabricate and repair various types of dies, fixtures, and custom assembly tools based on engineering drawings or verbal directions from management.
- Build prototypes and models of fixtures, dies, and assembly equipment for new products and production processes.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers and Team Leaders to interpret design concepts and bring them to life through precision machining.
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Inspect finished tools and equipment for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Machinist, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled in operating manual and CNC machine tools.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and quality standards in a machining environment.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship in tool & die making or machining preferred.
