Job Description
Title: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Cleveland, OH
Hire Type: Direct hire
Shift : (if applicable) 2nd shift 4pm-12:30 am
Compensation: $20-21/ hr
Benefits: Benefits from day 1 with almost 100% coverage! In addition to 11 paid holidays, 2-3 weeks vacation, 401K, etc.
Overview:
The CNC Operator is responsible for writing, adjusting, and troubleshooting CNC programs for machines to produce steel parts and rail.
Job Duties:
- Operate assigned CNC machines, including Johnford, Rockford, and Voortman
- Read and interpret drawings/part specifications; verify and adjust speeds and feeds for optimal machining
- Make necessary offset adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Change and maintain cutting inserts
- Verify parts meet specifications using scales, calipers, micrometers, and fixed gauges; complete inspection reports as required
- Clean machined parts to ensure readiness for assembly
- Report tooling or setup issues to the supervisor promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Be punctual and follow company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CNC multi-axis training and experience preferred
- 3–12 months of CNC multi-axis machine operator experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
- Able to read and write legibly; complete production reports accurately
- Proficient in using a tape measure and other measuring devices
- Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail components
- Quality-oriented and a team player
- Complete understanding of safe work practices
