Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Elgin, IL
Shift: 1st Shift, Contract to Hire
Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Pay: $20-$25/hr

We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support daily warehouse operations. You’ll handle material flow, shipments, and ERP inventory updates. Great for someone who is organized, communicates well, and enjoys a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
  • Receive, stock, and track purchased & WIP inventory
  • Perform ERP transactions and maintain accurate balances
  • Pick and deliver work orders/materials
  • Issue materials and update inventory locations
  • Conduct cycle counts & inventory audits
  • Process RMAs and work with Sales/Planning
  • Run/review daily inventory reports
Receiving
  • Greet and coordinate with delivery drivers
  • Verify items against packing slips
  • Unpack and receive PO shipments in ERP
  • Deliver items to proper locations
  • Notify teams of non-stock deliveries
  • Work with Buyers on discrepancies
Shipping
  • Prepare LTL & small-parcel shipments
  • Pick, pack, scan, weigh & label orders
  • Create BOLs + export docs (Commercial Invoice, SLI, AES)
  • Schedule outbound freight & rigging shipments
  • Maintain accurate daily shipping records
  • Use UPS & FedEx systems

Additional Duties
  • Operate forklifts & pallet jacks
  • Maintain clean and safe warehouse space
  • Schedule waste removal & dumpster pickups
  • Manage time to meet daily targets

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail & organization
  • Experience with ERP + UPS/FedEx software
  • Clear, effective communicator
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on role

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Bend, stoop, reach & perform repetitive movements
  • Stand or sit for long periods
  • Clear verbal communication
