Job Summary:
- We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for not only troubleshooting and repairing production lines and machinery, but also managing a small team of mechanics. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and technical skills, as well as experience in managing maintenance projects and personnel.
Job Duties:
- Lead a team of mechanics to ensure efficient and effective operation of equipment and machinery
- Schedule, plan and execute maintenance projects and tasks in accordance with the company’s maintenance procedures
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs
- Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with GMP, Food Safety and Plant Safety rules and regulations
- Work with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance issues, ensuring that all production targets are met
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including documentation of repairs and maintenance activities
- Oversee inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate levels are maintained to support production needs
- Train and mentor new maintenance staff and assist with the professional development of existing staff members
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and external contractors to ensure timely delivery of parts and services, as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
- Strong mechanical, electrical and technical skills, with experience working with a range of production equipment and machinery
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of maintenance technicians to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization
