Job Summary: 
A position is now open in the Materials Recycling R&D Group for a hardworking and curious candidate.  The position involves plastics, metals, and battery recycling R&D.  This candidate will join a team developing and testing materials separations and recycling operations, and will help assist project leaders and post docs with their research.  

Job Duties:
The candidate can expect to research, develop and operate equipment both on bench scale and on larger pilot scale equipment to develop, test, and demonstrate materials separation principles.  Due to the chemical and mechanical nature of the processes being worked on, a good background in chemistry and a mechanical aptness is helpful.  Equipment test stands will need to be assembled and adapted so experience using hand tools is important.  Delivery of brief reports and data to the PI’s is expected.

  • A high school, associates, or bachelor’s degree in the sciences, or similar degree
  • Experience operating commercial/industrial equipment
  • Experience with equipment installations and start-up/debug a plus
  • Experience in process development and plant design a plus
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as alone
  • Abilities in oral and written communication
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
