Job Summary:
- The Raw Ingredient Lab Technician is responsible for validating raw ingredients against specifications. This is to insure that the company meets food safety objectives of delivering safe quality products that pose no risks to consumers.
Job Duties:
- Responsible to take action and get involvement from upper management on any food and safety and quality problems reported from personnel
- Sampling of raw materials that are deemed sensitive or required for validation testing.
- Perform all wet chemistry on raw materials, and act as a back-up for wet chemistry performed by lab analysts
- Manage inventories of chemicals used in analysis
- Maintain data log books
- Verify COA compliance against specification
- Ability to aseptically sample sensitive raw materials
- Participate in the environmental monitoring program
- Working closely with warehouse, procurement and quality teams
- Conduct any other functions as required by the QA department
- Assist in formulation of new products or development of cost savings initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent work experience
- Must be able to work within a team environment
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Previous experience as R&D Technician preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
