Job Summary:
- This hands-on role will lead and support a variety of facility, process, and packaging projects, including equipment installation, utilities infrastructure, production line optimization, and safety improvements. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, sanitation, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Job Duties:
- Act as the primary onsite engineering representative during facility construction, collaborating with corporate engineering, general contractors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee the installation and startup of production and packaging equipment.
- Provide technical support during plant commissioning and ramp-up to ensure reliable, efficient operations.
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot systems and drive performance improvements.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and support safety and quality initiatives.
- Manage capital projects from design through implementation, ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and timeline expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; equivalent industry experience considered.
- 3-5+ years of engineering experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or a similar process industry.
- Demonstrated success managing capital projects and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Working knowledge of food-grade equipment design and sanitary manufacturing environments.
- Proficient with AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel 5-10% for project-related activities at vendor sites and other company locations.
