Hire Type:  Contract (with benefits), Onsite (not remote)
Target Pay Range:  $30.00 - 33.00/hour (W2)

Job Summary:
Performs calibrations of instruments that measure pressure, temperature, time, force, torque, speed, flow, electric current, voltage, resistance, and derived units of physical, mechanical, or chemical measures. Identifies and corrects errors contributing to discrepancies in measurement results.

Job Duties:
  • Performs calibrations on products and measurement instruments.
  • Quantifies sources of measurement error and determines measurement uncertainty with Test Uncertainty Ratios (TUR's).
  • Prepares calibration reports which detail methods, measurement data with uncertainties, TUR’s, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable standards.
  • Communicates with customers to resolve “technical” contract disputes or issues.
  • Assists customers with measurement and NIST traceability questions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or higher education from an accredited higher learning institution required.
  • 2+ years of Metrology and/or Instrument Calibration experience
  • Must possess practical knowledge of Metrology and measurement practices.
  • Must have analytical skills to identify sources of measurement errors and to read and interpret technical schematics, specifications, and calibration procedures.
