Job Summary:
The Instrument Calibration Technician will perform both preventative and on-demand maintenance and calibration activities on a variety of process instruments, controls, and electrical systems used in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
 
Job Duties:
  • Performs or arranges for preventative and on-demand maintenance and calibration on a wide variety of process instruments, controls, and electrical systems.
  • Conducts and documents activities in a manner that maintains facility compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP), process safety management (PSM), and other applicable regulations.
  • Provides instrument and electrical support of manufacturing investigations, failure and root cause analysis, and corrective/preventative action planning and execution.
  • Strictly follows all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures and supports efforts to improve facility EHS performance.
  • Attends all required training and complies with the responsibilities associated with the instrument technician position as detailed in the applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conducts instrument or electrical-related training sessions as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Formal education in a skilled trade (electrical, controls, maintenance, etc.) is desired.
  • 4+ years of experience calibrating facility instruments.
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, and repair skills for a wide variety of electrical equipment, instruments, and controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC logic is a plus.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with Maintenance Department objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, engineers, contractors, and vendor representatives.
