I am looking for a Process Engineer / Industrial Engineer to drive the optimization and automation of operations within our distribution center. This role is focused specifically on enhancing distribution center automation systems — not on machine design or mechanical engineering. You will play a key role in improving process efficiency, designing automation layouts, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze operations and process flows across the distribution facility.
  • Identify, track, and report key performance metrics to assess operational efficiency.
  • Pinpoint and prioritize areas of improvement to optimize productivity and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Develop recommendations for facility automation design enhancements and alternative solutions.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to determine optimal timing, locations, and methods for introducing automation.
  • Design and layout new automation systems within the facility to support evolving operational needs.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and other methodologies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a distribution center environment, specifically working with automated sorting equipment (like large-scale warehouse operations such as Amazon).
  • Proficiency in reading CAD drawings and performing basic CAD-related tasks (note: this is not a machine design role).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally within operations, engineering, and leadership teams
