Job Description

Title: Industrial Engineer 

Location:  Lansing, MI 

Hire Type: 6-12 month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of time studies and line-balancing activities to optimize production processes.
  • Gather and analyze data on existing processes to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Assist in making layout changes to enhance operational efficiency and maximize space utilization.
  • Play a key role in plant launch and layout activities, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal setup.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, improvements, and layout updates.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Candidates without a Bachelor's degree should have at least 4 years of relevant industrial engineering or layout experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in plant layout and time studies, either through work or academic projects.
  • Proficiency in conducting process flows and time studies to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong motivation and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) tools, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
