Industrial Engineer
Title: Industrial Engineer Location: Lake in the Hills, IL Pay: $70K - $75K per year
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Summary: As an Industrial Engineer, you will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will be responsible for developing manufacturing work cells for mechatronic components and systems, as well as recommending and implementing improvements to production processes. Additionally, you will coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out manufacturing process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training
- Observe and analyze manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency
- Prepare and present plans for process changes and coordinate deployment, including training team members
- Develop and implement optimized methods of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training
- Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including workflow, assembly methods, production equipment, work cell design, and tooling
- Regularly review production information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services, including production schedules, process flows, and engineering specifications
- Participate in product launch teams for new/revised products, including process design, capacity planning, training team members, and evaluating results
- Design, develop, test, and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required from an accredited college or university
- Prior work experience, internship, or research in industrial engineering or operations in a precision manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, costs, quality control, raw materials, and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of precision mechanical and mechatronic products
- Working knowledge of CNC manufacturing systems (lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDM, etc.) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
- Experience with and/or training in Lean and Six Sigma methodology
- Experience with ERP systems related to methods of manufacturing, process workflows, inventory management, etc.
- One or more years of mechanical engineering experience, including producing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings with precision tolerances, preferably using SolidWorks
- Previous linear motion or robotics experience a plus.
