Industrial Engineer I

Hire Type: Contract to Hire             
Pay Rate: $30/hr-$36/hr

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for increasing productivity through effective management of workers, optimization of business processes, and integration of technology to solve organizational and production challenges efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide process time estimation to support quoting and planning activities.
  • Simulate process, materials, and manufacturing workflows using REFA, MOST, WITNESS, or equivalent tools.
  • Coordinate process planning and setup during new product introduction (NPI), ensuring alignment with takt time, cycle time, and labor requirements.
  • Review results from prototyping and trial runs; provide feedback to NPI and commercial teams.
  • Conduct work measurement programs and examine work samples to establish labor utilization standards.
  • Analyze staff utilization, facility layout, production costs, and schedules to optimize workflow and resource use.
  • Recommend process and efficiency improvements, such as reorganizing workflows, relocating equipment, or updating technology.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to implement operational improvements.
  • Develop management systems for cost control, financial planning, wage administration, and job evaluation.
  • Design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
  • Optimize systems for the physical distribution of goods and plant layout for operational efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives to improve throughput, reduce cost, and enhance performance through Lean, Automation, or Six Sigma projects.

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Strong working knowledge of REFA, MOST, and WITNESS methodologies.
  • Proficiency with standard electronic assembly, inspection, and test tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, measuring tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define issues, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, production data, and statistical analyses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related productivity software.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
