Job Summary:
An HVAC Technician, or a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician, installs and repairs various air quality systems including CO2 cooling systems. Their main duties include installation, locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on equipment, repair conducting warranty services, and preventive maintenance.
Job Duties:
- Manages on site installation, repair, maintenance, and equipment testing.
- Utilizes HVAC skills to troubleshoot refrigeration and cooling issues.
- Removing old, and installing new systems
- Performing routine maintenance
- Meeting local HVAC codes
- Discusses equipment needs and modifications with managers and engineers.
- Participating in construction projects by assisting maintenance management and engineers.
- Perform and participate in design reviews.
- Confers with management, engineering, and machine operators to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of buildings and equipment.
- Maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience of relevant experience.
- CO2 cooling systems experience strongly preferred
- Maintenance experience in meat manufacturing environment and knowledge of FSIS / USDA regulations a plus
- Ability to work with Mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
