Title: HR Generalist
Location: Muncie, Indiana
Hire Type: Long-Term Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
Compensation: $27-32/hr
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide comprehensive human resources support in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting employee relations, HRIS data management, benefits administration, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate employee records. The HR Generalist will also assist in implementing HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting employees and maintaining smooth HR operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and manage employee records in accordance with corporate standards
• Ensure compliance with local and corporate HR policies and procedures
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries
• Process employee payroll accurately and on time
• Submit required HR forms and documentation to corporate HR
• Process employee leave paperwork and track time-off requests
• Administer employee benefit programs
• Conduct candidate interviews and support the hiring process
• Process and respond to unemployment claims
• Interpret and communicate company policies to employees
• Support special HR projects and event planning initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• HR certification preferred
• 3–5 years of HR experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
• Experience with HRIS systems and Kronos preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits, and leave regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
• Ability to present information to large groups
