Title: Food Production Supervisor (2nd shift)
Location: Chicago, IL
Hire Type: Direct-hire, Onsite
Shift: 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm)
Target Pay Range: $95,000 – $115,000, plus bonus potential

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor leads and coordinates daily shift operations to assure the manufacture of confectionary products consistent with quality, quantity, safety and cost requirements.   The Production Supervisor plans and assigns the daily work, enforces policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
 
Job Duties:
  • Direct hourly bargaining unit employees in all aspects of the production operation including communicate, train and enforce company philosophy, policies and expectations in a clear and precise manner.
  • Adherence to the productivity metrics to include crew size, operational efficiency, scrap loss, etc. to optimize profitability.
  • Comply and enforce all safety, GMP and housekeeping standards.
  • Keep management informed of developments and improvement possibilities.
  • Develop strong production team members through the effective use of performance management processes and tools.
  • Maintain department records, attendance, labor scheduling, safety and production reporting.
  • Create a positive working environment for all team members, which support the continuous improvement, reinforces company philosophy and policies and treats every individual equally and with respect.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift including weekends and overtime work as required.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of food manufacturing processes, procedures and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think ahead and prepare actions plans to get results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience using an ERP system (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Must pass a post offer physical, drug and background check.
  • This is a Union environment.
