Job Title: Financial Analyst (6-Month Contract - may go longer)
Location: 100% onsite in Newark, NJ
Industry: Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
Pay Rate: $33/hr-$40/hr

We are seeking a Financial Analyst for a 6-month onsite contract with a leading CPG company in Newark, NJ. This role supports critical financial reporting, fixed asset oversight, and internal control processes, working closely with Engineering and Finance Shared Services on capital project reviews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze monthly trial balance fluctuations and provide insightful commentary.
  • Prepare and post various journal entries for month-end close.
  • Maintain oversight of capital assets under construction, including timely journal entries and process improvements.
  • Participate in controllership initiatives to ensure strong internal controls, including periodic audits and ad-hoc reviews.
  • Support controls testing and implement remediation plans as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
  • Strong ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proven experience with fixed asset accounting and internal controls testing.
  • Background in large corporate environments, ideally within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and manage capital project financials.
