Inventory Accounting Analyst
Job Description
Location: Downers Grove, IL 60515 (100% onsite)
- Reconcile daily production and inventory activity to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
- Review inventory movements and identify discrepancies between raw materials, production output, and reported inventory.
- Investigate quantity and yield variances to determine root causes and financial impact.
- Analyze how inventory discrepancies affect product costs, gross margins, and profitability.
- Validate refinery production, yield, and inventory data within SAP and RightAngle.
- Research and resolve inventory, production, and accounting discrepancies.
- Perform month-end inventory reconciliations and support accounting close activities.
- Prepare inventory variance reports and communicate findings to Accounting, Finance, and Operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably involving inventory, manufacturing, cost accounting, or operational accounting.
- Experience reconciling inventory, production, or other high-volume transactional data.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and financial reconciliations.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and determine their impact on costs and profitability.
- Experience with SAP required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
