Field Service Technician
Location: Itasca, IL
Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 (Direct Hire)
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for engines and machinery? Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that involves national and international travel? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Service Technician to join our team in Itasca, IL. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our service department, handling warranty claims, traveling for on-site service assignments, and contributing to the daily operations of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process warranty claims for Distributors and OEMs, ensuring accuracy in pricing and documentation.
Review and track all warranty claims from Distributors and OEMs.
Maintain communication with Japan regarding warranty-related matters.
Assist in field visits, working under supervision with diesel and natural gas engines and providing customer support.
Diagnose technical errors and issues, providing timely and detailed service reports.
Collaborate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.
Administer and process warranty claims, including verification.
Perform failure analysis and investigations for various claims.
Lead investigations related to part quality standards.
Manage service department tooling and spare parts inventory.
Monitor service department financial expenses related to warranty work and tasks.
Drive continuous improvement of service department processes and procedures.
Participate in internal and external service department meetings.
Provide troubleshooting support via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
Collect warranty claims data to identify failure trends.
Perform engine diagnosis for diesel and natural gas engines.
Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites as required.

Requirements:
Minimum of a High School Diploma.
At least 1 year of service experience in general maintenance, repairs, and servicing of diesel and gas engines and related electrical systems in light and heavy-duty machinery.
Proficiency in data entry software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong troubleshooting, testing, repair, and service skills for diesel and natural gas engines.
Sound understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles and practices.
Some accounting and administration skills.
Knowledge of engine commissioning.
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfort working in confined spaces.
Minimum of a High School Diploma.
