Field Service Technician-Controls
Job Description
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment at customer sites
- Access and debug PLC and HMI programs using trends and diagnostic tools
- Make online programming changes for equipment upgrades and retrofits
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot servos, VFDs, remote I/O, Ethernet, and Profibus networks
- Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics
- Troubleshoot and service electrical control panels
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve technical issues on-site
- Manage and execute service contracts through completion, including longer-term engagements
- Travel to domestic and occasional international customer locations
- Preferred degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3–6 years of mechanical and electrical field service experience
- Strong experience with Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems preferred
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments under tight deadlines
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient for technical work and communication
- Work in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and electrical systems
- Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods
