 Title: Field Service Manager

Location: Elmhurst, IL 60126

Hire Type: Direct Hire

  • Provide comprehensive support to Field Service Technicians and Sales team.
  • Schedule and coordinate visits for all service technicians, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain open communication and coordination with the headquarters in Germany.
  • Act as a key liaison with customers, representing the company and fostering strong relationships.
  • Professionally address and resolve customer issues, contributing to brand enhancement.
  • Propose and implement new procedures and systems to optimize service operations.
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers top performance and maintains high-quality standards for customers.
  • Manage existing in-house orders through effective coordination with the Sales team.
  • Recruit and retain team members by cultivating a positive coaching environment.
  • Conduct supervisory functions, including reviews and coaching, to enhance the efficiency of the Service Team.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for existing team members, new hires, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Oversee the scheduling tool for the team, customers, and sales team to streamline operations.
  • Manage customer Requests for Quotation (RFQ), quoting, invoicing, and Purchase Order (PO) processing.
  • Provide oversight of credits, repairs, and returns.

  • 5 or more years of experience managing and leading a technical customer service team.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on service technician experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives.
  • General aptitude towards electrical and mechanical products and customer applications.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and some PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in the printing industry highly desired.
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel as needed, up to 30% domestically, with infrequent international travel.
