Field Service Engineer
Job Description
Schedule: Full-time, Non-exempt / OT over 40 hours / Double-time over 58 hours
Travel: ~50% (primarily domestic, occasional trips to Mexico or Canada)
- Collaborate with internal Mechanical and Controls Engineers during machine builds
- Travel to customer sites to install, commission, and run-off machines (pre-planned schedule)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls issues
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on equipment in the field
- Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation and troubleshooting
- Provide feedback to engineering teams on machine performance and improvements
- Support in-house debugging, testing, and commissioning of machines
- Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical training
- 3+ years of hands-on field service experience with industrial machinery, machine tools, or automation equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls systems
- Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc) and HMI interfaces; CNC programming experience a plus
- Automotive powertrain or precision manufacturing experience highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer-facing communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain)
