Field Service Engineer
Job Description
Schedule: Always on-call (nights, weekends, holidays)
Hours: 40–50 hours per week on average
Travel: 100% regional travel required
Vehicle: Must use personal vehicle
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x
Company credit card provided for gas, parking, meals, and job-related expenses
- 3–5 years of electrical experience, including high-voltage work
- Strong troubleshooting and technical skills
- Excellent client communication and customer service abilities
- Must be reliable, flexible, and comfortable working on-call
What You’ll Do
Perform installation supervision, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of low-voltage distribution gear, transformers, and related power equipment
Prepare technical reports, test sheets, and track tools, spare parts, and consumables
Follow safety regulations for both company standards and customer sites
Attend onsite meetings and coordinate with Project Management teams
Communicate regularly with Project Managers to share updates and escalate needs
Deliver high-quality customer service and represent the company professionally
Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Perform additional duties as needed
What You Bring
Associate degree in Electrical Power Distribution or 5+ years of relevant field service experience
Military experience preferred
Data center or mission-critical system experience a plus
Hands-on experience with:
– Electrical power distribution systems
– Power monitoring systems
– AC/DC electrical power
– Communication protocols3–5 years experience with low-voltage switchgear or power distribution equipment (preferred)
Knowledge of UL standards (UL67, UL1008, UL1008S, UL60950, UL891, UL1558, etc.)
Ability to read electrical schematics
Ability to use electrical test equipment (multimeters, current meters, etc.)
