Field Engineer
Job Description
Location: Remote (U.S.-based with 75%+ travel)
Salary:
- $100,000–$110,000 base
- Additional compensation includes daily overtime pay, weekend premium rates, and travel-related earnings
- Support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ship-to-shore crane systems
- Commission AC/DC drive systems, medium voltage VFDs, and PLC-based controls
- Perform system tuning, diagnostics, and performance optimization
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues in the field
- Support system testing, customer acceptance, and warranty resolution activities
- Train customers on system operation and maintenance best practices
- Provide detailed field reports and collaborate with internal engineering teams
- Travel domestically and internationally (75%+), often with short notice
- Perform work at heights, including up to approximately 175 feet
- Experience working with large AC/DC motors, medium voltage VFDs, and PLC programming
- Hands-on field service or commissioning experience in industrial environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills within electrical, automation, and control systems
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work at heights
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar) OR equivalent hands-on experience
