Job Title: Facilities Technician (HVAC / Electrical)

Location: Milpitas, CA (100% Onsite)

Shift: Day Shift Available! 6:00am start time!

Pay: $32-35/hr (Based on Experience)

Job Type: Full-time | Contract-to-Hire | Permanent

We are seeking a well-rounded Facilities Technician with strong HVAC and electrical maintenance experience to support critical facility operations in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing essential building systems including HVAC, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, and facility controls. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with critical utilities, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to support both preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, and compressed dry air (CDA) systems
  • Monitor and support critical utility systems to ensure continuous facility operations
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities and respond to equipment breakdowns
  • Support facility electrical systems and perform basic electrical troubleshooting using meters and diagnostic tools
  • Work with Building Management Systems (BMS) and facility control systems to monitor equipment performance
  • Interpret equipment manuals, procedures, and technical documentation to diagnose issues and complete repairs
  • Measure and verify DC power and other electrical parameters as part of routine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Assist with clean room facility support and environmental control systems when required
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance data
  • Collaborate with facilities, engineering, and operations teams to improve reliability and reduce downtime
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, or critical utilities
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC equipment, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, and related mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and the use of multimeters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance procedures
  • Experience supporting facility operations within manufacturing, food processing, chemical processing, semiconductor, or similar industrial environments
  • Basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and facility controls
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate, technical training, or degree in HVAC, Facilities Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field
  • HVAC certification and/or facilities controls certification
  • OSHA certification
  • Materials control or related facilities certifications
  • Experience working in clean room environments
  • Experience supporting critical utility systems in semiconductor, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing facilities
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing and facility operations environment supporting critical utility systems
  • Hands-on role requiring work around mechanical, HVAC, and electrical equipment
  • May require standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment or materials up to 50 lbs
