The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and construction activities across facility systems and infrastructure. This role requires broad trade skills — including sheet metal work, welding, carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, and basic HVAC — and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The technician may also lead other maintenance staff on complex projects.

Job Duties:
  • Read blueprints and plan project work to complete assigned maintenance or construction tasks.
  • Perform carpentry tasks using both hand and power tools, including building frameworks, installing subfloors and finished flooring, and fitting interior trim and hardware.
  • Conduct masonry and wall repairs, including removal and installation of nonstructural walls.
  • Fabricate and repair metal components using a shear, brake press, rivet gun, and welding equipment.
  • Prepare and paint machinery and facility surfaces according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Install and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage.
  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance such as replacing blowers, ducts, and filters.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including running conduit, wiring circuits, and installing or relocating equipment.
  • Mix, pour, and drill concrete as needed for facility repair or modification projects.
  • Train and assist less experienced Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety procedures, materials, and technology developments in maintenance and repair fields.
  • Support and comply with all company safety, quality, and housekeeping policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash protocols.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade certifications in carpentry, welding, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
  • Broad experience in facility maintenance with hands-on skills in multiple trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual ability a plus.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Trained in LOTO and high-voltage safety procedures.
  • Capable of leading tasks independently or directing small maintenance teams.
