Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Location: Brookfield, WI
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $55k-$65k/yr.
- Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment—primarily gearboxes, belts, and other standard components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions; escalate technical issues (e.g., CNC repair) to outside service vendors.
- Rebuild or overhaul machine components including dismantling, inspection, and part replacement.
- Perform facility maintenance including plumbing, conduit runs, and rare equipment moves.
- Execute or support preventive maintenance (PM) tasks—goal is to build out and stay ahead of PM plans.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for services like HVAC repair, CNC work, lawn care, and snow removal.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Submit part and service requests as needed.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
- Strong general maintenance experience across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC.
- Comfortable handling both facility and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with common issues like belts, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Proactive mindset toward implementing and following a preventive maintenance plan.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with external vendors and service providers.
- Experience in a manufacturing or job shop setting preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working across the facility.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
