Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to lead our plant's quality and safety initiatives. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of safe, high-quality products that meet regulatory standards and customer expectations. You will oversee a team of dedicated professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Job Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Manage and maintain all required documentation, including product specifications, test results, and quality records.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of quality assurance professionals.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members.
- Stay informed of evolving food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage and coordinate external audits and certifications (e.g., BRC, SQF).
- Collaborate with customers to understand and meet their specific quality requirements.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, with a strong focus on quality assurance and food safety.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and quality systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
- HACCP certification required.
