Job Description
- Prepare, load, and detonate explosive charges to blast and harden castings used in trackwork components
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine blasting requirements
- Conduct pre-blast inspections and risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance
- Monitor and control blast effects to achieve desired material hardness and structural integrity
- Maintain detailed records of blasting operations, materials used, and safety checks
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize blasting processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding explosives handling and usage
- Maintain and inspect blasting equipment and storage facilities
Qualifications:
- Valid Explosives Blaster Certification (state and/or federal as required)
