Job Summary:
- This position is responsible for developing our shop routings by directing the flow of products through our manufacturing
process. - Typical operations include saw, machining, fabrication, polishing, outside vendor, and assembly
- Responsible for estimating time and cost, and other necessary tasks to ensure our shop operates at top efficiency.
- Ability to read a blueprint for a machined part
- Knowledge of machining operations and production methods
- Understanding of tooling and potential fixturing to produce parts
- Enter BOM's and PN's.
- Review material and labor cost information from vendors and/or engineering department to process timely and
accurate product manufacturing estimate - Determine the operation sequence of manufacture that will maximize profit and maintain production efficiency
- Enter determined operation sequence into ERP system with estimated times and costing
- Maintain knowledge of current in-house and supply chain manufacturing capabilities.
- File all quote information on the company network
- Work with manufacturing engineering to modify and update existing part methods in the ERP system as needed.
- Research and determine make vs buy decisions
- Enter/Create simplified and concise work instructions
- Communicate via phone & email.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient using Microsoft office suites (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point, etc.)
- Ability to use Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to analyze copious amounts of information.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (TCM, Workwise experience would be helpful)
Education and Experience:
- Engineering Certificate or associate degree from College or Technical school preferred or 4+ years of job
experience - 1-2 years estimating experience within a fabrication, assembly, machining, or tool die job shop manufacturing
setting or a combination of education and experience.
