Flooring Estimator | Commercial Construction

Compensation: $50k - 65k
Sterling Engineering is hiring an Estimator for a well-established commercial flooring contractor with over 40 years of success. Our client has completed high-profile projects, including the Chicago Bears locker room at Soldier Field, and continues to grow.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys construction estimating and wants a long-term career with a company that invests in its employees. No sales or customer-facing responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Review blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Develop estimates for bids and change orders
- Create shop drawings
- Research flooring materials and product applications
- Work closely with Project Management, Pricing, Sales, and Installation teams
- Use estimating software (Measure Square experience is a plus)
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of estimating or construction experience - Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and construction bids
- Construction industry experience required (commercial flooring is a plus)
- Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects
