Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Job Description
- Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks, and develop appropriate corrective-action plans to address deficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and programs.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation issues.
- Prepare, update, and provide training for Safety and regulatory compliance.
- Manage reporting requirements for waste management.
- Regularly perform safety walk-throughs to proactively identify and correct potential safety issues.
- Plan, develop, and manage site procedures for adhering to local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Conduct job hazard analysis and exposure assessments to identify occupational health hazards.
- Manage EHS audits by outside regulatory agencies.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences (or related technical discipline).
- 5 years of professional experience developing and implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and ability to demonstrate effective interaction with regulatory agencies.
- Knowledgeable in the technical fundamentals of safety management and risk assessments and reduction, including machinery safety, ergonomics, and occupational health.
