Job Summary:
•    This role will support the Engineering team by assisting with right-of-way permitting, inspections, development engineering services, and capital projects. It will also collaborate with the other departments to conduct plan reviews, drainage investigations, and inspection services.

Job Duties:
•    Review utility project plans within rights-of-way, easements, and private property improvements.
•    Perform engineering inspections and deliver customer service for infrastructure and private development projects.
•    Investigate drainage concerns and propose solutions.
•    Develop engineering standards, design drawings, and project exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS software.
•    Inspect and document the condition of infrastructure assets, including roadways, sidewalks, pavement markings, signage, and related facilities.
•    Enforce construction ordinances, specifications, and permit requirements while offering technical guidance to staff, contractors, and the public.
•    Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal contract specifications and permit regulations.
•    Collaborate with internal departments to provide technical expertise and project support.
•    Communicate with impacted residents and businesses, providing updates on construction project statuses and upcoming plans.
•    Deliver prompt, professional customer service to residents, contractors, engineers, staff, and other stakeholders.
•    Respond to public inquiries, investigate complaints, recommend corrective actions, and resolve construction-related issues while keeping stakeholders informed.

Qualifications:
•    Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
•    1-3 years of experience in field engineering or construction inspection.
•    Valid driver's license required at the time of hire.
•    Self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including residents, staff, management, and elected officials.
•    Ability to think critically, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
•    Proficient in mathematical calculations, budget monitoring, and preparing engineering project reports.
•    Skilled in MS Office applications and general computer software.
•    Experience using standard engineering tools such as measuring tapes, wheels, and optical levels/transits; basic surveying knowledge is a plus.
•    Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Geographic Information System (GIS) software is highly preferred.
