Job Summary
The candidate will be assigned to post-tensioning projects in area of buildings and bridges that are supplied and will work on the preparation of engineering submittals as well as technical support to field operations. In addition, the candidate should be able to design and engineer structural repair solutions to add or restore capacity to structures. Most repair work takes place in the heavy civil and commercial infrastructure markets. Structure types include cable stay bridges, segmental bridges, concrete frame high rise buildings, parking garages, dams, silos, pipelines and more. 

Job Duties:
  • The utmost attention to safety in every aspect of this job is an essential requirement. Ensuring the safety of job site personnel through the incorporation of operational and design safety factors is required for each project.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and installation drawings for post-tensioning and reinforcing applications involving buildings, bridges, tanks, barrier cables, etc. Oversee and direct project engineer and detailers in the preparation of drawings for assigned projects.
  • Prepare strengthening design and shop drawings with details and calculations.
  • Preparation of engineering cost estimates as required.
  • Provide technical support to project managers, field operations, contractors and designers.
  • Build strong relationships with external clients, customers, engineers, vendors and operational team members.
  • Lead, coordinate and direct any assigned project.
  • Attend industry functions such as events, conferences and exhibitions when needed.
  • Participate in product development, testing & certification projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or master’s degrees in civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 6-10 years’ experience in post-tensioning design, detail and repair work. Proficient in the use of structural analysis and CAD software.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in any state.
  • Knowledge of design and industry codes such as ACI, PTI, PCI, AASHTO, AISC, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of monostrand post tensioning systems, multistrand post tensioning systems, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems, structural repair.
  • Experience on civil construction, heavy construction, DOT, bridge construction or similar construction site experience preferred.
