Job Summary:
This role is part of the Strategic Sourcing-Direct Materials team, which thrives on Techno-Commercial approach to sourcing, with strong focus on numbers and results. This position will have preferred location at our Itasca Illinois headquarters. Travel to US based suppliers and Mexico manufacturing locations is required, along with occasional international travel to suppliers and other facilities. This person will work on direct Electronics and Electro-mechanical category of up to $100 M in spend supporting six manufacturing plants in North America, Europe & Asia. This position will be located in the Itasca Illinois facility. Travel to US based suppliers and Mexico manufacturing locations is required, along with occasion international travel to Asia & Europe suppliers and other facilities.
Job Duties:
- Deliver on cost reduction projects for annual spend assigned
- Develop Annual Commodity Operating Plan & execute in a timely manner
- Develop and lead global electronic supplier roadmap and mitigate inflationary risk & secure supply
- Existing relationships with suppliers for ICs, Passives, Connectors, PCB & Eletro-mechanical
- Demonstrated history of leading successful continuous improvement projects
- Successful collaboration with other departments especially engineering R&D, quality (factory and supplier), materials management, and sales
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical approach
Qualifications:
- 5-8 Years’ experience in supply chain or operations including 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing.
- Strong experience in ICs, Passives, Connectors, PCB & Eletro-mechanical components
- Certified six sigma green or black belt preferred.
- Expert level understanding of market dynamics for resins, rubber & plastics is important
- At least 3 years direct experience in developing & executing Electronics strategy
- Standard business financial documents and means of measuring and tracking important supply chain KPI’s. Measuring, monitoring, and reporting on savings achieved
- Able to strategize and explain different cost drivers and formulate commodity strategy
- Effective negotiator with multiple approaches to choose depending on circumstances
- Knowledge of the various sourcing events (i.e., RFP/RFQ and reverse auctions) and how/when to use them.
