Electrical Test Technician 2
Job Description
Overtime: Frequent OT on weekends required based on production demands.
- 2+ years of electrical testing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of electrical theory
- Experience performing HiPot, breaker, AC/DC, I/O, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Perform HiPot testing, breaker testing, AC/DC testing, I/O testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform electrical testing on AC/DC power distribution systems using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Test HVAC systems, lighting, receptacles, fans, fire alarm systems, battery systems, and perform cable megger testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical assembly, wiring, and testing issues.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to complete testing accurately and on schedule.
- Document test results and prepare technical reports with findings and recommended corrective actions.
- Utilize electrical testing and measuring equipment to verify system performance.
- Follow all company safety procedures and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of electrical testing or related industrial electrical experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and electrical testing principles.
- Experience performing HiPot, breaker, AC/DC, I/O, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Experience testing three-phase AC and DC control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, megohm meters (megger), and other electrical diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and NEC codes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work throughout a manufacturing facility while wearing required PPE.
