Electrical Technician
Job Description
Location: Itasca, IL
- We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Technician to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our plant operations. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and programmatic issues within our automated systems. You will also play a key role in developing preventative and predictive maintenance plans to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and quality procedures
- Analyze and troubleshoot plant equipment problems
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance plans
- Manage parts and repairs for efficient equipment upkeep
- Design and integrate improvements to automated quality inspection systems
- Provide training to staff on controls systems and maintenance procedures
- Assist the team with troubleshooting and repairs via phone and on-site support
- Work collaboratively with operations leadership on new equipment installation and commissioning
- Create training materials and work instructions for consistent best practices
- Travel to other plants as needed to provide project support
- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or Computer Technology (or 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience)
- Strong understanding of PLC programming (experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Wonderware a plus)
- Experience with Beckhoff data acquisition systems and network integration
- Familiarity with HMI touchscreen applications and programming
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in using computers and troubleshooting software
