Electrical Project Engineer
Job Description
- Collaborate with operating, maintenance, and process control teams to identify potential electrical and instrumentation capital projects that align with the mill capital plan.
- Define and develop detailed project scopes, using the mill capital plan to guide the writing of Capital Allocation Requests.
- Coordinate project timelines by tracking progress, facilitating activities, and addressing potential delays.
- Estimate costs for each project and forecast quarterly funding requirements to ensure successful project completion.
- Engage with vendors to specify, size, and obtain equipment quotes, evaluating proposals from both a technical and financial perspective.
- Oversee contractors and engineering consultants to manage the design, installation, mill integration, and start-up of electrical projects.
- Administer the project budget by submitting requisitions for materials and labor, ensuring adherence to project scope. Major changes to the project scope will require supplemental Capital Allocation Requests.
- Support operations and maintenance teams in conducting preliminary economic evaluations for projects focused on cost reduction, production improvements, or quality enhancements.
- Electrical Engineering Degree (related engineering degree considered as well)
- 4 years of electrical engineering experience
- 2 years of project management experience
