Electrical Engineering Technician
Job Description
- Use current test equipment
- Perform wiring accordingly to electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Use specialized, computer-assisted test equipment
- Verify the integrity of wiring, wire harnesses, and sophisticated electromechanical assemblies
- Read and evaluate electrical schematics and circuits
- Use computers to configure electronic controls for testing and to meet customer requirements
- Complete detailed production checklists and production reports
- Occasionally perform product assembly, as required
- Fully understand the electrical functions of a single product line, including all design features
- Troubleshoot electrical assemblies to meet design criteria
- Zero to three years of electrical testing experience or equivalent education (i.e. Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology)
- Ability to read simple to complex blueprints, wiring drawings, schematic diagrams, and specifications
- Knowledge in the use of multimeters and other electrical testing equipment
- Good PC skills
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory
