Sterling Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join an innovative engineering team focused on integrating third-party hardware, software, and firmware into cutting-edge products. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about embedded systems, system interoperability, and product development.
Job Duties:
- Integrate third-party hardware, software, and firmware into company products
- Analyze electrical schematics and data communication protocols to ensure system interoperability
- Validate subsystem compatibility and overall system performance
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to meet functionality and performance goals
- Conduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Interface with vendors to understand specifications and resolve integration issues
- Document integration procedures, test outcomes, and technical findings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in systems integration or product development (strong entry-level candidates will be considered)
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, and Internet Protocol-based systems
- Experience with debugging and managing devices over IP networks
- Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
- Proficient in reading and interpreting datasheets and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of power electronics, sensors, or industrial control systems
- Exposure to development tools or languages like Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW
- Experience working cross-functionally in a product development lifecycle
