Hire Type:  Direct hire -$110-$140k per year based on experience

 

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineering Manager manages a team of electrical engineers who design, develop, program, innovate new ideas for current and new systems and develop new automation design criteria. Test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery.

Job Duties:

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for communicating job expectations, training and development, coaching the Electrical Engineering staff to meet company objectives for on-going project management, new product development and continuous improvement of existing product lines.
Essential Functions 
  1. Provides electrical engineering guidance and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects
  2. Creates unit and development cost estimations and helps determine affordable and reliable material sources
  3. Provides managerial support to Electrical Engineering Supervisor on assigning department personnel to projects
  4. Ensures on-time product management and development by collaborating with other departments to estimate reasonable and precise schedules and solve problems quickly
  5. Establishes technical standards in review, documentations, and designs
  6. Working with manufacturing and operations department, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development
  7. Manages vendor and subcontractor relationships
  8. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations 
  9. Updates job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirements; participating in educational opportunities; participating in professional organizations
  10. Maintains training and development standards for the entire department
  11. Drives innovation and new design concepts utilizing new technology.
  12. Works closely with Mechanical Engineering to help develop the necessary protocols for finished products while maintaining realistic design criteria that can be managed and achieved by both departments.

  1. Strong communication skills required (verbal, written and interpersonal)
  2. Experienced manager with strong organization skills, high standards and excellent leadership 
  3. Demonstrates an expert comprehension of electrical schematics, codes, formulas, and troubleshooting/problem solving methods
  4. Excellent mechanical and technical skills
  5. Works well under pressure with changing priorities
    1. Promotes teamwork, initiative, dedication with department
    2. Proficient with Siemens S7-300 and S7-1500 logic and PLC programming a definite +
  • Supervisor Responsibilities
    Position manages and supervises all employees in department.
     
    Work Environment 
    1. This job operates in a professional office environment with extended periods of sitting while using a computer   
    2. While performing the essential duties of this job employee has exposure to a manufacturing environment such as, moving crane, fork-lift, and various metal machining centers

    Physical Demands  
    The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job while performing technician services.
     
    • This position is active and requires the ability to walk, bend, squat, carry, stoop, kneel, crouch, or stand for periods of time
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus

    1. Other exposures include reviewing existing and new designs with personnel on, above or under machine as assembly progresses to review problems, interferences, resolutions, and future improvements.

  • This is a full-time position with expected average of 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday.  Weekend work will be required when traveling and to support personnel on site prior to FAT’s.
     
    Travel  
     Willing to travel domestically/internationally and obtain all health requirements subject by both airlines and specific entrance/exit essential requisites per visited country (Countries).
     
    Required Education and Experience 
    1. Bachelor Degree or Equivalent work Experience
    2. 3+ years relevant electrical engineering experience in electronic design and PLC programming
    3. 2-3+ years of experience managing engineering teams 
  •  
    Preferred Education and Experience 
    1. Proficient in the use of Solid Works, 3D, and AutoCAD knowledge to interpret existing documentation
    2. Proficient knowledge and experience with PLC programming and MMI system knowledge for Siemens products
    3. Knowledge of control and design to meet pharmaceutical specifications
    4. International travel experience.
