HMI Developer
Job Description
- Collaborate with customer project engineers and MSP automation engineers to design, develop, and deploy HMI systems for industrial equipment.
- Develop HMI programs using platforms such as Ignition, Wonderware, and Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk SE & ME.
- Simulate and test HMI systems to ensure performance and reliability.
- Travel to customer sites for field deployment, commissioning, and startup support (approx. 15–20% overnight travel).
- Configure communications between HMI servers and PLC systems via network protocols.
- Associate technical degree or equivalent certification.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial HMI development and deployment using:
- Ignition
- Wonderware
- FactoryTalk SE & ME
- Basic understanding of IT networking principles.
- Familiarity with ISA-101 and High Performance HMI design standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience navigating Studio 5000 or similar PLC environments (ladder logic).
- Knowledge of Python and SQL for backend logic or data integration.
- Understanding of OPC UA protocols and server configuration.
- Background in graphic design and/or technical writing.
- Experience with WinCC or FactoryTalk Optix development.
